Ekaterina Shelehova, an exceptional singer, performer, and composer, began her musical journey at age three.She went on to release her first EP of Children’s Songs at the age of 6.Growing up in Hamilton, Ontario, she quickly showcased her talent by participating in numerous competitions and concerts, securing first place in the renowned Kiwanis Competition in 2008, 2010, and 2012.
During high school, Ekaterina studied at theRoyalConservatory of Music in Toronto, earning three Gold Medalsfor highest grade inVocal and a diploma for Grade 10 VocalPerformance. She also completed her piano studies, receiving her ARCT diploma in Piano Pedagogy. In 2013, under thepseudonym"KATYA," she recorded her debutsoloalbum,MOONLIGHT, which remains available on all streaming platforms.
In 2014, Ekaterina auditioned for the Conservatorio G. Verdi in Milan, Italy, where shewent on tocomplete her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Opera with outstanding marks. Her international career blossomed in 2016 when she was invited to perform solo concerts at the Kostomuksha Music Festival in Russia.
Ekaterina's journey continued in 2019 with a tour of China alongside the iSing Opera Academy, performing in cities such as Suzhou, Beijing, and Guangzhou. She has graced numerous television shows, including a mainstream TV show in Beijing, Italy'sNessun Dorma, where she shared the stage with Ted Neely, andI Soliti Ignoti.
In 2021, Ekaterina's performance ofEarth MelodiesonItalia's Got Talentwent viral, amassing over 500 million views online. This performance not only skyrocketed her fame but also allowed her to explore new avenues, such asco-writing the soundtrack for the Italian movieThe Tempest,and collaborating on animations as well as movies as a singer and composer.Her original songEarth Melodiesremains her most famous track to date, captivating fans globally. Her covers ofNow We Are FreefromGladiator,Beyond the Quiet River,and her original piecessuch asConjuring Stormsand Ateşh and Moonhave also received widespread acclaim.
Ekaterina continued to showcase her talent onBulgaria's Got Talentin 2022, reaching the semifinals with her original pieceAwakening. She has collaborated with many artists, including Gennady Tkachenko-Papizh, recording a series of improvisations in Berlin, Germany. The first of these,Spirit Visions, was released in October 2022,She has also created original tracks with Worakls, and performs as a part of Worakls Orchestra in selected concerts.
In April 2023, Ekaterina released a praised cover ofSavage Daughter, a Viking-age, Norse-styled classic composed by Karen Kahan and produced by Panos Topalidis. Her version has been widely appreciated by fans worldwide.
