Schloßbergbühne Kasematten

Located above the rooftops of the old town, within the walls of the former fortifications, the Schloßbergbühne Kasematten is one of Austria's most popular open-air venues .

The easiest way to reach this stage is by elevator or the Graz Schlossbergbahn funicular . From the exit point, you cross a piazza, which can also be incorporated into events, and reach the entrance to the historic casemates.

These ancient walls enclose a large, gently sloping area leading down to the stage. The niches in the walls provide space for boxes. Thanks to a retractable roof and newly installed glazing on the rear , the Schlossberg open-air stage in the casemates can be used regardless of the weather .
Since 2017, the casemates have been even more weatherproof due to the glazing of the rear facade. This allows concerts, presentations, galas, receptions, as well as seminars and symposia to take place in this historically unique setting .
